Browser Settings

Popup Blockers

The application uses pop-up windows extensively and accordingly you will need to ensure that your browser settings allow pop-up windows.Set out below are instructions for checking your pop-up window settings:

iPad and iPhones

iPad and iPhones comes with pre-installed Safari web browser which provides pleasant surfing experience. In case you are accessing websites with pop ups then you can use the iPad settings for disabling the popup blocker.

Step 1:Tap the settings icon in the Home screenStep 2:Navigate to the Safari menu and then to the Block Pop-ups optionStep 3:To Turn off Popup blocker tap the grey area next to ON option value Block Pop-ups.

Step 1:Click on the gear icon at the top (far right) and click again on Internet Options
Step 2:Switch to the Privacy tabStep 3:At the bottom it says Turn on Pop-up Blocker, uncheck it:

Mozilla Firefox

The Mozilla Firefox pop-up blocker is integrated into the Firefox browser. To disable the pop-up blocker:Step 1:Open the Tools menu and click on Options:

Step 2:The following window will appear: Click on the web features icon in the list on the left.
Step 3:Remove the checkmark beside the Block Pop-up windows option. Step 4:Click Ok to close the window.

Printing Background Colours

In order to print shading and colours for schedules you will need to ensure that your browser settings allow for background colours to be printed.

Bookmark the application URL (internet address) for easy access.

PC Settings

Date and Time format

The database requires a specific Australian date and time format. The required system format is shown below. Region and Language settings is accessed under the Control Panel.
TIP:
If you manually enter a date into the system you must always use the following format: DD/MM/YYYY.

Internet Access and Devices

The application is available on any web-enabled device or computer with internet access.The best performance is achieved with a high speed internet connection, whether it is 3G, WiFi or ADSL.

Mobile phone and tablets

The application is available on any smart phone with internet data access. The speed of the connection will affect performance of the application.It is recommend that 3G be the minimum speed and that WiFi hotspots are utilised when available.The application has been designed to operate on touch screen devices such as iPAD’s. It is not a native iOS application therefore it cannot be downloaded from the itunes store. You will not be able to open MS Excel files on the iPAD directly from the browser.The application has been tested on iOS and Android devices and works with the only know issue being that the HTML editor will not work on Android’s default web browser. We recommend that Android users download the free Mozilla browser which has no issues.

Computers

Due to the high level of compatibility across browsers there are no known issues with PC use.MS Excel and Word files will require you to have MS Office loaded onto the PC or Notebook computer.Adobe Reader will also be required to read PDF files generated from the system.

Email

Driving Instructors do not require an email account to send emails from the application. However, to receive emails you will require an email account.

Customer Portal and Administration Portal

You are only able to have one open session of the administration portal or customer portal at a time on the same browser due to the use of cookies in the application. If you to open multiple sessions, for example to test, to support customers etc, use a different browser for each instance (Chrome for one, Mozilla Firefox or Edge for another).
